THANKSGIVING WITH THE BIDENS AT FORT BRAGG

On Monday, November 22nd, FEA leaders and members attended an early Thanksgiving meal at Fort Bragg hosted by President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. The First Lady, who specifically asked for DoDEA educators to be invited, noted that they are part of the military community and thanked DoDEA educators for all they do.

FEA leaders, including FEA President Brian Chance, FEA Director for DDESS Diane Gibbs, and ESP Coordinator Teresa Brown had some time to speak directly with the First Lady. She came to the table where FEA leaders were sitting, and President Chance gave her an FEA pin and introduced other FEA leaders. In addition, Fort Bragg Association of Educators President Annitra Smith-Lincoln escorted President Biden to meet with the families of several DoDEA educators, including their children and military spouses.

FEA would like to thank NEA Government Relations, who assisted in arranging for our members to attend the event. We were proud to participate in the event, which honored military members, and equally proud to be recognized as a part of the extended military community. It was an honor to represent DoDEA educators, whose outstanding work was recognized by the First Lady.
