Human & Civil Rights

FEA values the diversity of our educators and students worldwide. By engaging with HCR events and initiatives, members help strengthen our schools and communities.

Mission Statement

“NEA Human and Civil Rights advocates for social justice, equity, and equal access for education employees and students by developing and implementing programs and services that improve the effectiveness of public education and ensure a great public school for every child.”

FEA educators and their students come from diverse backgrounds and communities around the world. Our association is at its strongest when members share, respect, and include the wide range of viewpoints and experiences of our educators and the students they serve.

Members are encouraged to connect with their local or regional NEA Human and Civil Rights representatives to find out more. Local HCR contacts can provide resources, training, and opportunities to support diversity and equity efforts.

We invite members to participate in HCR events, consider serving in HCR positions when available, and work alongside HCR leaders to advance inclusion and equity across our schools and communities.
